Subplot Brainstorm Gdoc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-jw0Bin...dit?usp=sharing
IRL Part I is May - July 6,2018
IRL Part II is July 6, 2018 - August 15, 2018
The spring flowers are blooming, the sun days are longer, and many families across the varying communities of Visakhapatnam have found it an auspicious time to join their households together! Some do it for wealth. Others, for a name. Some seek to form alliances for darker purposes covered in a new bride's blush. Everyone will feast, drink, and be merry all the same as two become one. Businesses open up their doors because the reasons of others become the best way to further their own names and skill in the communities. Wedding season has arrived! Join the residents of the city as they discuss those households of note that are joining sons and daughters, bring your business to be triumphant over someone else, make the rumors fly, and maybe fall in love along the way!
How it Works
This localised event series will feature weddings across various communities and faiths. Members will have the chance to contribute to either a featured wedding, engagement, or both in the series. Rumors will fly as to the reasons why a wedding is happening or the benefit. Individual players will be able to generate rumors or make their enemies rise or fall with them. Come enjoy an easy way to get to know your fellow players, get the muse going, and establish some ideas for future stories. Featured engagements and wedding threads created by staff and members will be listed here as they become available to play. You'll be able to utilize unique plot devices to make writing even better!
Event Created NPC's
You are welcome to use your own characters and their pairings to contribute to this event, but if you have no one and still wish to join in? NPC's can be utilized all across the event. Event specific NPC's (those used just for this) can be easily played by submitting their name or purpose (if you don't have a name yet, come back and rename later) in your reply to this thread. You can post them from your own character account they'd be connected to, use a picture for them, etc. If it helps? You are welcome to fill out a Free Form Template app for your event only NPC if they involve more description. Please talk with admin if you feel this NPC will require an account that you can use short term through the event! If enough apps are made, we will make sure they are put in an area where they can easily be accessed.
How to Contribute
This event is built on the idea of households or individuals going about and getting engaged and married to form alliances, increase business, for love, or to get close to someone else for ruin. Staff will introduce wedding/engagement customs from the local area. Members are invited to contribute by using NPCs or their own characters to have engagement or wedding threads for participating members to write in. The pacing for threads will unfold one after the other, with notations to mark characters involved and post order, if applicable.
Contributions will need to note what community and thread type (Wedding or Engagement, with community indicating also religion- (European/Colonial/Hindu/Muslim/Paris/Etc ) please read for more information on that below.
Please note that:
1. Threads will be done in a limited number of open threads available at once, so each thread gets a chance to be featured and conclude, the story in it develop, and the important points to be recorded before moving on to the next one. This will go for both staff initiated and member initiated threads given to the event.
2. Make sure to let staff know how many people you'd like in your thread. This means you can choose to have it open, with no limitation on people, by unlimited but invitation only (meaning they will let you know they will be coming in) or enact a number cut off (5 people max per thread). These will be noted with the threads so that both creators know who they have and members know what sorts of threads will best fit their time schedules as these threads will have a time limit for completion.
3. Side threads will be listed so that members can read them as they unfold, and will have no time limit for completion. Please make sure to label in the subject areas what main thread it attaches to.
3a. Main threads will need to be resolved by the end of the event series so that what is contained in them can be used for the next story theme and event series, or other personal member stories.
4. A posting order guide will be put up to help members go through their threads with posting order in a manner that allows for best movement and accounts both for those who post quickly and those who may need to skip a round or two. This will be noted by the thread creator so participants know what posting order, if any, is in effect.

- The Wadia and Sarbh Wedding
May 10th 1797 - Don your rich silks and flowing brocades! The 10th of May marks the time for Gorvad Wadia and Farnaza Sarbh to marry. The Wadias and Sarbhs are new families to Parsi community of Visakhapatnam, and with much wealth to their name, they have splashed out on a very lavish wedding indeed. The sun is setting, the lanterns are lit, the chero bandhvanu ceremony is complete, and after a showering of rice and petals, Gorvad and Farnaza emerge to greet their guests as var and bairi. The reception party will be held outdoors in Lower Visakhapatnam. A spread of food will be shared - four courses of Parsi delicacies from papeta anjeer na cutlis (fig and potato cutlet) to patra ni macchi (steamed fish). With full bellies it will be time to dance. Stand and observe, or join in! Learn the traditional moves from the spiritual and fun to dances from empires of old.
But wait! There is talk that the groom shares a bloodline with Lovji Nusserwanjee Wadia, the renowned Parsi who built the Bombay docks in 1736? Is this just rumour, or is there truth in it? Who knows, and perhaps this will be a piece of gossip among natives and foreigners alike. But even more intriguing, are the two lovers scurrying off into hiding to spend time together. Who is it? It is none other than the bride’s sister, Yazdin, who has left her side to join hands and lips with Nathaniel, the son of an esteemed English merchant. Should your character catch them or spot their moving shadows on the ground? Or are they too wrapped up in the fun to even notice?
Open to: The Wadias have opened the reception to all family friends. The Wadias and Sarbhs have friends among the BEIC, other foreigners and many of the natives. This is an opportunity to dive into an event rich with culture, dance, delicious food and enchanting music. It is a slice of Persian culture in the heart of India’s Eastern shores. Will you come along? Be careful - a Parsi soiree will last until dawn. Any morning commitments may need to be written off!

Choose Your Path in the Stars
Roles to Fill & Paths to Choose
This season was seen in the stars ages ago, but the extra energy that now whips the city into a frenzy of activity? This came about as a result, they say, of the failed puja done on behalf of Kali-Ma. The goddess was angered by the destroyed idol, the dissaray, and in her rage sought to cleanse the city. Others say the rage was to see it all taken down, with not even her beloved to calm her. Now? It would seem the goddess has turned her face once more. Gentler deities are called upon now: Ganesha and Lakshmi, Radha and Krishna. Durga Devi has no reason to war, so she guards instead, helping those through hard obstacles. Some still call on the gods for reasons of darker intention though. Purity, joy, and happiness can only be had if they complete their objectives. What path will you choose during this season?
Join the Adventure!
As you know, our event features the ability to create short term NPC's that you can use to join any available thread if you don't want to use your character, or in addition to! On top of this, some of our threads will have playable short term characters up for grabs and roles to be assigned to characters/NPC's that volunteer for them. Check here as announced for available opportunities to literally influence the story by choosing a character and a path in the adventure!
