Running Late Spring-Early Summer, April - Early June 1797
Subplot Brainstorm Gdoc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-jw0Bin...dit?usp=sharing
IRL April - Early June 2018
The spring flowers are blooming, the sun days are longer, and many families across the varying communities of Visakhapatnam have found it an auspicious time to join their households together! Some do it for wealth. Others, for a name. Some seek to form alliances for darker purposes covered in a new bride's blush. Everyone will feast, drink, and be merry all the same as two become one. Businesses open up their doors because the reasons of others become the best way to further their own names and skill in the communities. Wedding season has arrived! Join the residents of the city as they discuss those households of note that are joining sons and daughters, bring your business to be triumphant over someone else, make the rumors fly, and maybe fall in love along the way!
How it Works
This localised event series will feature weddings across various communities and faiths. Members will have the chance to contribute to either a featured wedding, engagement, or both in the series. Rumors will fly as to the reasons why a wedding is happening or the benefit. Individual players will be able to generate rumors or make their enemies rise or fall with them. Come enjoy an easy way to get to know your fellow players, get the muse going, and establish some ideas for future stories. Featured engagements and wedding threads created by staff and members will be listed here as they become available to play. You'll be able to utilize unique plot devices to make writing even better!
Event Created NPC's
You are welcome to use your own characters and their pairings to contribute to this event, but if you have no one and still wish to join in? NPC's can be utilized all across the event. Event specific NPC's (those used just for this) can be easily played by submitting their name or purpose (if you don't have a name yet, come back and rename later) in your reply to this thread. You can post them from your own character account they'd be connected to, use a picture for them, etc. If you want them to be more elaborate, and used in not just part 1 of the series, but part 2 and ongoing? Please fill out a Free Form Template App for them with their basic information since this vehicle will be more involved. This is only for NPC's that plan be intricately involved beyond 1 thread or 1 part of this series.
How to Contribute
This event is built on the idea of households or individuals going about and getting engaged and married to form alliances, increase business, for love, or to get close to someone else for ruin. Staff will introduce wedding/engagement customs from the local area. Members are invited to contribute by using NPCs or their own characters to have engagement or wedding threads for participating members to write in. The pacing for threads will unfold one after the other, with notations to mark characters involved and post order, if applicable.
Contributions will need to note what community and thread type (Wedding or Engagement, with community indicating also religion- (European/Colonial/Hindu/Muslim/Paris/Etc ) please read for more information on that below. We need to have your threads by 04.27.18 to be considered for event inclusion.
Please note that:
1. Threads will be done one after the other, so that each thread gets a chance to be featured and conclude, the story in it develop, and the important points to be recorded before moving on to the next one. This will go for both staff initiated and member initiated threads given to the event.
2. Make sure to let staff know how many people you'd like in your thread. This means you can choose to have it open, with no limitation on people, by unlimited but invitation only (meaning they will let you know they will be coming in) or enact a number cut off (5 people max per thread). These will be noted with the threads so that both creators know who they have and members know what sorts of threads will best fit their time schedules as these threads will have a time limit for completion.
3. Side threads will be listed so that members can read them as they unfold, and will have no time limit for completion. Please make sure to label in the subject areas what main thread it attaches to.
3a. Main threads will need to be resolved by the end of the event series so that what is contained in them can be used for the next story theme and event series, or other personal member stories.
4. A posting order guide will be put up to help members go through their threads with posting order in a manner that allows for best movement and accounts both for those who post quickly and those who may need to skip a round or two. This guide will be coming soon.
Let the garlands be made! The gowns in all colors be worn. Break out the horses and ring the bells in the chapels! Wedding season has begun! Gather your allies as your enemies make do, and prepare to be astounded for the
